Who Are We?

Established in 2005, Books On Board (BoB) is based in Austin, Texas.

BoB believes in offering the broadest selection possible and aggressive pricing. We currently carry over 175,000 titles from the major publishers and small publishing houses. We currently offer eBooks in Adobe format for Adobe Reader and Adobe Digital Editions, Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader and Palm/eReader formats.

Additionally, we offer Audiobooks. There are also eBook Study aids for Video iPods and Nanos. Ours, we believe, is the broadest ebook selection available.

What is an eBook?

An eBook is an electronic version of a book designed to be read on PCs, Macs, laptops, PDAs, some phones (Treo's, Blackberries, iPAQs, etc.), and e-ink readers like the Cybook. eBooks are NOT audiobooks. We offer audiobooks (see below), but these are a different format labeled "Audiobook."

Each device can only read certain formats depending on the manufacturer and the designer of the eBook reading software. All eBook reading software required for our eBooks can be downloaded for FREE. What is an Audiobook?

An audiobook is for listening. They are found on our Audiobook page link and through our Search Tools. Audiobooks are only those books with the black Add to Cart button labeled "Audiobook." There is extensive documentation about getting started with our audiobooks on our Help page. With the exception of Unsafe Harbor by Jessica Speart, all of our audiobooks currently require the FREE Overdrive Media Console in order to download and un-encrypt for your use. Unsafe Harbor is from our newest partner Abbey House Press; it uses the universal MP3 format and can be downloaded and copied without impediments into any computing environment. We hope to add many more titles like this in the future.

Most of our audiobooks can be copied to CD, but some cannot. Each audio title has a Details Tab that tells you if it can be copied to CD, plus further information.
